Relay for Life
Relay for Life was held last night in Grand Forks. It's always so touching to me to see all the bags. I'm especially touched and brought to tears by the teams that sponsor children who are victims/survivors of cancer. A student from the high school where I work passed away this year after a battle with cancer. It was unbelievable to see all the bags purchased in her honor and to see so many of the students from our school there to support the cause. Teenager always amaze me! Here a just a few pictures from the evening...

Family Get-Together
On Saturday of this past weekend, Brian's family celebrated his Aunt Bea's 80th birthday by having a family reunion/get-together at a local park. This is a picture of Brian and his Dad, Ernie. Technically, I know there is a ton wrong. But it has a lot of sentimental value and I'm so thrilled to have a picture of the two of them together!

Abby
This kid amazes me. I'm so proud of how she is always willing to try something new. She works really hard at many things and although I know there are times she is just exhausted, she rarely gets in a bad mood or takes it out on us. She is a terrific big sister. It has been so fun to see her grow and mature - especially over the last year. It will be so exciting to see what else is in store for her in the future! I know that she is really excited for summer and having a little bit of time to relax and unwind.

Kate's Jeans
Kate went to the lake with my Mom and Dad a few weekends ago. I guess Grandma decided the holes her jeans needed mending - I didn't realize that until yesterday when she went to put them on. Isn't the patch cute? Now I'm gathering all the other jeans with holes in the knees for patches too! The other is just Kate playing around while her sister played soccer.

Soccer Season!
Our soccer season started a couple weeks ago, but the weather hasn't been really great for it yet. I also haven't been able to go to many games/practices because of work commitments and other kids' activities. But tonight was a nice evening and it was fun to watch Meg play. She really enjoys doing something different and being outdoors!

Abby's Trumpet
Abby had her last band concert of the year tonight. I thought I'd try something other than the typical band concert shot. So, after the concert (in a light rain) we went to a little park area with a gazebo and took a few shots. I am trying to do more shots that include more of the environment - not always close-ups. Not really sure I like the ones I got, but it's a start.

How Do You Like to Go Up in a Swing......
Up in the air so blue? Oh I do think it the pleasantest thing ever a child can do!......Every time my kids get on a swing I can hear my Mom saying that poem to me when I was little. I need to read more poetry to my kids. I have such great memories of reading poems as a child, but don't seem to read them with my kids. So, as I write this, I am deciding to make reading poems a goal for summer reading with the girls!
It was a beautiful day here - full of soccer games, a track meet, and a mini gymnastics meet for Kate. It's so great to have all the neighborhood kids outside playing again and hearing them yelling and laughing outside. Makes me more anxious for summer vacation! Our kids have about 13 days left (but I have more like 22). It's hard to believe another school year is almost over!

Ponchos and Light
Not AT ALL on theme this week ("water" is the theme for those of you who check who aren't from Two Peas)! Working more on different kinds of light - quality and angle of light. This was in front of my front door at about 8:00 this evening. Can't decide if I like color or black and white better. Kate definitely doesn't do a "serious" look very well - looks more sad or angry! By the way - I still have two other kids! :) I just haven't seen them much this week due to nighttime activities. Hopefully they'll let me get them in front of the camera this weekend!
