One of my goals for the year is to focus on the little things in life - the little daily events that often go unnoticed and unappreciated. One of those things for me is to cherish my kids childhood. I know that sounds cheesy, but I have been very sad lately at how old my kids are getting. I regret I didn't scrapbook more and wasn't into photography when my first two were little. I so wish I had pictures of their little hands and feet and the little things like when they started to draw pictures. Today Kate sat at the counter and drew pictures of the Spongebob Squarepants characters - and here are a few of the photos.

These are really looking great! Really clear, and I love your point-of-view on that first one. Do I detect a little sticking-out-the-tongue action? LOVE that! :)
love your angle. and i love your focus for the year. the kids definitely grow up fast so your goal is admirable.
A perfect thing to focus on! :) TOni
love the perspectives on both!
These are really really great pictures! And there's no time like the present to take pictures of those precious little hands! I really love these!
Jordan - that is a little bit of tongue sticking out action - love it too!
Yuppers, it would be nice sometimes to "go back with what I know now".
But today is a great place to be. Glad you've decided to focus on the important stuff...
That is sweet. They sure do grow up fast. Great captures. I just love opening up your blog to those smiles on your header everyday!
I love the focus on the hands and the color and DOF is great. I used to lament how fast it was all going when my kids were little, but what I didn't get then was how much fun even later was also going to be. Even teenage years are great! And their college years also have pleasures of their own.
I love the color in these and also the point of view. Way to go for capturing some great moments!
i think it is important to focus on the little everyday things, too! great shots and memories...
First off great shots! I could not agree with you more about not being into photography when my kids were younger...they are now 11 and 7. I have hardly any photos of their early childhood days...
cari
great focus!
these are great!
Look at that concentration in that first shot. How sweet.
I have the same regrets as you. :-)
yes, very nice focus, the little things that get caught up in our daily lives. Great shots!
Great color!
